-Lockheed Martin: Blackswift - Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA); Technical Volume Lead for a proposal to develop
a hypersonic (up to Mach 6) turbine-based combined-cycle aircraft
for DARPA and the US Air Force. The contract value for Phase
1 is $700 million.

October-December 2007-Lockheed
Martin: C-130J Through
Life Support (TLS) – Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF),
Management (including Executive Summary) Volume Lead for a
proposal to sustain the 12 C-130J aircraft operated by the
RAAF at its Richmond, NSW, Australia air base. Eighteen authors
contributed to the management volume: 10 were located on-site
in Australia, eight were located in Marietta, GA. The contract
is for a seven-year period and is valued at $600 million.
August-September
2007- Honeywell: Joint
Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) – US Navy
(NAVAIR), Technical and Management Volume Lead for a proposal
for the Increment 1 phase of a differential GPS-based precision
approach and landing system for use on Navy aircraft carriers.
Twenty-eight authors contributed to the 1,100-page, multi-book
technical volume (Book 1 included technical material; Book
2 management material). The contract value is $325 million.
February-July 2007-
Raytheon: Mid Range Munition
(MRM) Guided Anti-Armor Multi-Purpose 120 MM Cartridge, Technical
Volume Lead for a proposal for the System Design and Development
(SDD) phase of a Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) Dual-Mode (semi-active
laser and autonomous) cartridge for the Future Combat System
(FCS)—Mounted Combat System (MCS). Twenty-three authors
contributed to the 350-page technical volume. The contract
value is $300 million.
2006
October 2006-January
2007- BAE Systems: National Geospatial-Intelligence
Agency Saint Louis Information Library Proposal; Technical
Volume Lead and editor for a proposal to migrate and consolidate
the National Geospatial Agency’s (NGA) data at the St.
Louis Information Library and develop a SOA-based foundation
for a Geospatial Knowledge Base that can be used by all Intelligence
Community stakeholders. (NGA is a DoD agency responsible for
collecting, analyzing, and distributing Geospatial Intelligence
[GEOINT] in support of national security.) Eighteen authors
contributed to the 150-page technical volume. The contract
value, with renewals, is approximately $1 billion.
August-September 2006 -
Raytheon: Silent Knight Radar Proposal (US Special Operations
Command); Edited entire proposal tendered to U.S. Special
Operations Command to provide system design and development
for the Silent Knight Radar system, a next-generation TF/TA
(Terrain Following/Terrain Avoidance) radar that will be deployed
on MH-47 Chinooks, MH-60 Pave Hawks, CV-22 Ospreys, and MC-130H
Combat Talon (Hercules variant) aircraft or their successors.
The contract value is $165 million.
July-August 2006-
Excelsior Racing: New York State Racing Franchise Proposal
(New York State); Technical volume author for a proposal submitted
to the State of New York to manage thoroughbred horse racing
at Aqueduct, Belmont and Saratoga racetracks. The 75-page
technical volume was written with SME input from Goldman Sachs,
Citigroup, real estate developer Tishman Speyer, and retired
Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey, among others. The 5-year
contract is worth $19 billion.
May 2006
- Raytheon: Volume lead services for two proposals being submitted
in response to the Joint Cargo Aircraft (JCA) RFP released
by the US Army and US Air Force. The JCA contract has an estimated
value of more than $3B. The services will be provided on-site
in Reston, VA and El Segundo, CA.
March 2006
- D+A has been hired by NASA to develop a video script describing
the Highlander project's lunar rover.
February 2006
- D+A has been hired to develop a Web site for the Propellant
Systems Branch at NASA Glenn Research Center.
January 2006
- D+A has received a contract to design and develop
a Web site for renowned guitarist/composer Frederic
Hand. Mr. Hand is an Emmy-winning television and
film composer; the guitarist/lutenist at New York City's Metropolitan
Opera; and a respected teacher. Among his best-known recordings
are Jazzantiqua, Baroque and on the
Street, and the soundtrack for the film
Kramer vs. Kramer.
